| Labour Day marks the labour uprising on 19th June 1937 which is generally recognized as the start of the modern trade union movement in Trinidad and Tobago. Trinidad and Tobago’s national labour hero wanted to see what he termed “a better and a brighter day.” Butler was born in 1895 in Grenada. Labour Day or Labor Day is an annual holiday celebrated all over the world that resulted from the labour union movement, to celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers. |
