Ceremonies and events take place to honour the founder of the republic and the country's first Prime Minister, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.Turkey is at the northeast end of the Mediterranean Sea in southeast Europe and southwest Asia. Turkey's current boundaries were drawn in 1923 at the Conference of Lausanne. |
