| The Heroes Day of the Tanzania is celebrated on 7th April. The Zanzibar Revolution saw the 1964 overthrow of the Sultan of Zanzibar and his mainly Arab government by local African revolutionaries. Zanzibar is an island state within the United Republic of Tanzania, and has its own semi-autonomous government made up of a Revolutionary Council and House of Representatives. Zanzibar is part of the East African republic of Tanzania. |
