| International Women's Day (IWD) is celebrated on March 8 every year. This holiday is celebrated in commemoration of economic, political and social achievements of women. It is the most important holiday for women all around the globe. On International Women’s day is to coordinate international efforts for women’s rights. The first National Woman's Day was observed across the United States on 28 February. International Women’s March 08 started being commemorated in 1910 but made official by the United Nations in 1975. It is a public holiday in Uganda. The women in Uganda also celebrate this holiday with much enthusiasm. |
