| Ukrainians around the day will celebrate the Ukraine’s Independence Day on August 24th of every year. It marks the anniversary of declaration of independence from former USSR in 1991. It is a public holiday in Ukraine. The Act of Declaration of Independence of Ukraine was adopted by Ukrainian parliament on August 24, 1991. After August 19th coup attempt by conservative Communist leaders of the Soviet Union to restore the control over the USSR by central Communist party the act was adopted. With this act Ukraine stand as independent and democratic state. From 1992 August 24th the day is celebrated as Independence Day in Ukraine. The constitution is adopted after years of Independence. The day is celebrated in Ukraine with lots of social activities that will be prepared by Municipalities and fireworks in the evening. |
