Christmas Day, is an annual Christian holiday that commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, the son of God. According to Gospels that Mary was a virgin when she became pregnant. In the Gospel of Luke, Mary was visited by an archangel Gabriel who brought the message from God that she would give birth to the son of God. According to Gospel of Matthew, Joseph was visited by an archangel Gabriel who told him to marry Mary rather than send her away or expose her pregnancy. On December 25, people around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus. Some people celebrate it by distributing gifts and greeting cards to each other.
