| The Festival Wednesday is celebrated on 1st Wednesday of August. The Festival Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is full week every August, is islanders celebrated. These are called as August Festivals. This event celebrates with Caribbean music, food, and drink flow freely at Festival Village in Road Town, Tortola. August Festival is a time for British Virgin Islanders to come together and celebrate emancipation, partake in friendly competition. In this time Young men from around the islands attempt to traverse a 20' long greased pole and snatch the red flag. In this event which is always fun to watch is the Greased Pole Contest. |
