| About Human Rights Day |
| The Human Rights Day of the South Africa is celebrated on 21 March. In 1960, on this day almost sixty nine people were killed in a police firing at Sharpeville who were participating in a protest against the pass laws. Four days later the government banned black political organizations; many leaders were arrested. The SAHRC (South African Human Rights Commission) was launched on 21 March 1996. To commemorate this event the South Africa marked this day as Human Rights Day of South Africa. Human Rights Day is a National Holidays in South Africa.
