Ash Wednesday is a day of repentance and it marks the beginning of the Lent. Ash Wednesday is a time when many of the Christians prepare for Easter by observing a period of fasting, repentance, moderation and spiritual discipline. Ash Wednesday being forty days before Good Friday, it always falls on a Wednesday and it is called Ash Wednesday. Not all Christian churches observe the Ash Wednesday or Lent. |
