| About Canada Day |
| Canada Day, celebrated every July 1 of every year in Canada, commemorates the British North America Act of 1867, which unites the four provinces of Canada into a single country and celebrates the formation of the Canadian federation rather than independence from Britain. Canada Day is celebrated with parades, fireworks, concerts, citizenship ceremonies and more. Canada Day is also celebrated in England, Australia, China, and is celebrated jointly by Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario of the United States during their International Freedom Festival. Canada Day is celebrated on July 1 unless it falls on a Sunday; in this case, it will be celebrated on July 2. |
