| About Easter |
| Easter is the most important annual religious feast in the Christian liturgical year. Easter is the day when Jesus Christ was crucified and the Christians offer prayers and services in the Churches. Christians believe that Jesus was resurrected from the dead three days after his crucifixion, and celebrate this resurrection on Easter Day. Easter is a moveable feast, meaning Easter is not fixed in relation to the civil calendar. On Easter day Jesus Christ rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. The Celebrations in Panjim, hundreds of devout Goan Catholics gather in the Panjim Church of Mary Immaculate Conception to listen to the mass and participate in the Way of the Cross. Earth Day is also recognized by the United Nations, but celebrated on the March Equinox. Many countries around the world celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd. |
