About Goa Carnival
The carnival is celebrated on February for three days and nights, when the legendary king Momo takes over the state and the streets come alive with music and colour. It is Goa's most famous festival and has been celebrated since the 18th century. One of the most colorful and popular festival of Goa is the Goa Carnival. Carnival is a complete holiday dedicated to fun and enjoying as a break from the daily routine and stress of the every day life. King Momo introduced Goa Carnival just before the Lent season of Christian calendar. Huge parades through the cities are organised with bands, floats and dances and balls in the evenings. The final day concludes with the famous Red-and-Black dance held by the Clube Nacional in Panjim.
