| About Holy Thursday |
| Holy Thursday is also known as Maundy Thursday, is the Christian feast falling on the Thursday before Easter that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with the Apostles. On Holy Thursday morning there is a special Mass in the Cathedral Churches, celebrated by the bishop and as many priests of the diocese as can attend, because it is a solemn observance of the Christ's institution of the priesthood at the Last Supper. Holy Thursday is the fifth day of Holy Week, and is preceded by Holy Wednesday and followed by Good Friday. It is the most complex and profound of all religious observances. Holy Thursday is the day that Christ celebrated the Last Supper with His disciples, four days after His triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the Palm Sunday. |
