| The Republic Day of India is a national holiday of India to mark the adoption of the Constitution of India and the transition of India from a British Dominion to a republic on January 26, 1950. The Republic Day is celebrated with much enthusiasm all over the country and especially in the capital, New Delhi where the celebrations start with the Presidential to the nation. Republic Day is one of India’s most important national events. The whole country gathers in public Places around bonfires and listens to speeches about the Republic Day of the country. The Republic Day has been declared a National holiday since then and all the commercial as well as educational establishments observe holiday. The first Republic Day parade in 1950, was held at the Irwin Stadium. |
