About Parshuram Jayanti
The birthday of Parshuram is celebrated on the 3rd day of the bright half of Vaishakh month. Parshuram Jayanti is in Baisakh (April) during third lunar day of the light fortnight. Parshu Rama was an enemy of Kshatrye Kings because some of them had caused atrocities on his father and their Kama Dhenu cow. Parshuram is the sixth avatar of the Vishnu. Parshuram is considered to be the personification of valour and of devotion to father and mother. His fathers name was Jamadagni, and his mother is Renuka. This fast is also called Parshu Rama Dwadashi. Akshaya Tritiya is also known as “Akha Teej”, is traditionally the birthday of Lord Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Akshaya Tritiya marks the beginning of the Treta Yug.
