Parshuram is considered to be the personification of valour and of devotion to father and mother. His fathers name was Jamadagni, and his mother is Renuka. This fast is also called Parshu Rama Dwadashi. Akshaya Tritiya is also known as “Akha Teej”, is traditionally the birthday of Lord Parasurama, the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
