About Rama Navami
The festival of Ram Navami is the celebration of birthday of the Hindu God, Shri Ram. Rama was the first of the four sons of King Dasharatha of Ayodhya. Shri Ram was the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu and born in Ayodha. Rama Navami is celebrated on the ninth day of the Hindu month of Chaitra. Sree Rama was born on this day and years later on the same day Rama married Sita. Sri Ramnavami occurs at the beginning of the summer when the sun has started moving nearer to the northern hemisphere. Ram Navami is a Hindu Vaishnava holiday. The Sun is considered to be the Lord of Rama's dynasty which is called the Sun dynasty. Sun is also called as Raghukula as Raghu means Sun. Many places in North India host fairs in connection with the festival culminating in spectacular fireworks on the Rama Navami.
