| The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is a liturgical feast in honour of the martyrdom in Rome of the apostles Saint Peter and Saint Paul, which is celebrated on 29 June.Saints Peter and Paul is one of the greatest celebrations in the annual calendar of the Church and in some countries, a holyday of obligation. Peter's original name was Simon. Peter's is a fisherman and the brother of the Saint Andrew, the apostle who led him to Christ. The Feast of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul is at the same time a grateful memorial of the great witnesses of the Jesus Christ and a solemn confession for the Church. The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul observed on June 29 they pursued justice by confessing the truth, by dying for the truth. |
